The Minneapolis Police Department warned the public to stay away from the area and said two police officers were among those wounded. Seven patients were brought to a nearby hospital, according to Hennepin Healthcare Medical Center. Tim Walz said in a post on social media that state officials are on the ground helping local law enforcement respond to the shooting. “Grateful to law enforcement actively working to ensure the safety of our neighbors in Downtown Minneapolis this afternoon,” Walz said.
